The Doulaescence Mentoring Programme
For those who have completed the Initial Preparation course, we offer new doulas support and encouragement, and a safe place to learn so they can make the most of the start of their doula journeys.
Our mentors will guide new doulas through the ‘what went well’ moments, the ‘even better if’ moments, and help them make informed choices, so going forward to the next client they feel even more set up for success. Our mentors are an invaluable resource in guiding others to consider the options, get new information and identify the support they need.
OUR MENTORS ARE:
Committed postnatal doulas who champion postnatal doula support.
Understanding of how highly skilled postnatal doulas are, and are dedicated to the development of, not only the doulas, but also the profession.

Committed to a safe, inclusive, non confrontational space where all voices are welcome, both in our mentoring sessions, and in our Younique Postnatal facebook group.

Our mentors:
Understand the impact an individual doula will make on the life of the parents and the family unit.
Have a passion for raising awareness of the skills and value a postnatal doula brings to a family.

Ask questions to help you reflect, so you can move forward.
Listen well and provide you the opportunity to explore ideas in order for you to develop your knowledge and skills.
The YP Mentoring Programme:
Is a safe place to learn and grow your Doula practice. Your mentor is on your side, offering a chance to discuss experiences and take learning from them.
Offer mentees a place to explore boundaries safely, and to discuss mistakes from the lens of ‘what have I learned from this’, while at the same time helping you balance ‘self-talk’ with recognising your successes.
Offer opportunities to identify areas you may want to explore for further learning.
Is encouraging and supportive of all mentees, helping them make informed choices, from how to handle things ‘next time’ to marketing or business decisions.
